This resource contains a 100-slide PowerPoint lesson on nouns and a 24-page workbook on nouns. Nouns PowerPoint Lesson This is an editable, 100-slide PowerPoint lesson on nouns - common nouns, proper nouns, abstract nouns, compound nouns and collective nouns. All the different types of nouns are explained and examples are given. The PowerPoint contains three activities to reinforce and consolidate the pupils' understanding of nouns. A sorting activity that requires sorting different types of nouns into the appropriate category. A timed noun challenge where pupils have to think of nouns in all categories beginning with a certain letter. A worksheet is provided for this on the PowerPoint. An activity where pupils are asked to identify all the nouns in the poem 'Daffodils' by William Wordsworth. A worksheet is also provided for this. This resource could be used to introduce nouns or to revise them. It could be used as a one-off lesson or a series of lessons. It would be particularly useful for SATS revision. It is suitable for primary-aged pupils and for older SEN students who will benefit from the visual nature of the PowerPoint. Nouns Worksheets This resource contains a 24-page workbook on nouns. There are two information sheets and 22 worksheets. This is a very powerful, poignant and thought-provoking presentation on the power of an act of kindness. It is suitable for a lesson or assembly for Random Acts of Kindness Day (17th Feb UK), Random Acts of Kindness Week (second week of February, USA), on 1st September for New Zealand's Random Acts of Kindness Day, World Kindness Day on 13th November and anti-bullying week. It is also suitable for Mental Health Awareness Week 2020, as the theme is kindness. The PowerPoint is about Jonny Benjamin (MBE), a British mental health campaigner, who launched a social media campaign called 'Find Mike' to search for the stranger who talked him out of taking his own life in 2008. The purpose of the campaign was to raise awareness of suicide and mental illness. It went viral and received global media attention. Within just two weeks Jonny found the stranger he was looking for, Neil Laybourn. The PowerPoint contains a hyperlink to a short interview with Jonny Benjamin. This is a fully editable and informative 70-slide PowerPoint presentation on the Jewish Festival of Passover or Pesach (Hebrew) which is celebrated for seven or eight days in April each year. The presentation focuses on: Why Passover is celebrated and how it got its name – the ten plagues, the exodus of the Israelites from Egyptian captivity across the Red Sea led by Moses. The Seder meal – the Seder plate and the symbolic significance of all the foods on the plate. The rituals followed at the Seder meal – breaking the matzah, reading from the ‘Haggadah’, the Seder cushion to ‘lean’ on. Communication Difficulties Exercise This is a task designed to simulate the difficulties that many people with autism encounter when trying to communicate.
